Wiki

The intellectual conversation continued in our class Wikiversity project. As a reference resource, Wikiversity allowed our class to create an entry titled “Web 2.0 for Professional Use,” which provides tips and techniques for writers, designers and users of social media in academia and the workplace. I read through every section of the Wiki to see my classmates’ research and understanding on the most effective ways to use different Web 2.0 applications and platforms. This information was especially helpful in the arguments and evaluative claims put forth by my peers on which blogging platform was better and which social network was most beneficial to students, potential job candidates and professionals. The Wikiversity project also resulted in conversation coming off the Internet and into the real world as a classmate introduced me to Dropbox software, which allowed me to upload the audio clips that can be seen on the “Professional Web Etiquette When Looking for a Job” page of the “E-mail” category. My desire to incorporate more multimedia into the page I was creating was made possible because I was able to consult with a classmate. This conversation gave me a better understanding of the software necessary to include the audio and provided me with the Dropbox software that I used in later projects for this class and will continue to use in the future.

While I wrote some of the content for the main E-mail page, I wrote all of the content for Professional Web Etiquette When Looking for a Job.
