Introduction

Before taking ENGL 4832: Writing for the World Wide Web this semester, I merely used the Web and did not understand what all I was really doing when I surfed the Web. However, with the semester coming to an end, I have learned how to write for the Web, design for the Web, and use new technologies to create content for the Web. The knowledge and projects that I am taking away from this class would not have been possible without the collaborative help of my professor and my classmates in learning to use new technologies and Web tools. This in-class help and collaboration is similar to the collaborative nature of the Web itself and the conversations that are pieced together from site to site, page to page, and link to link. The Web as a medium acts very much like the conversation held over the course of this semester in my class, with each of my peers providing their different ideas, insights, thoughts, and specialization for the intellectual betterment of every other student in the class.
